painting

So I just learned how to use a new application on my Mac.  I've been making videos and I showed a friend.  He liked the photos that we'rent the prettiest.  And i asked if he would like more of the ugly pictures and he said yes.  I don't know why it's hard for me to believe that?  Does every artist appreciate the defects more than the beauty?
